Activities

There's always something new to discover at Richfield Heritage Preserve. From hiking the trails to fishing in the lakes to helping us preserve and protect the land.

Fishing

​

Shore fishing is permitted on the Upper Lake. A boathouse and dock sit just above the dam spillway. All fishing is catch and release park.

 
Boating

​

Non-motorized watercrafts, such as kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards, are welcome on the Upper Lake from April 1st through November 1st. The Upper Lake covers 8.3 acres and has three small islands. Personal floatation devices required.


Bridle Trails

Enjoy over five miles of bridle trails open to the public from June through December. The horse entrance is located at 4225 Oviatt Road, with parking for horse trailers. Call 330-888-0511 for gate code.

Orienteering

 

A short course (one mile) and a long course (2.75 miles) were installed in 2020. Please keep in mind that as months and years pass, landmarks or objects described may have changed. Access course information here.

Buckeye Trail

 

Nearly 3 miles of the Buckeye Trail run through the park. Hikers staying overnight in the Adirondack shelters must register with the park office.
